The
Computer-Controlled Chain-Driven Engraver
-
Over 5 years in
development. 4 hours of video. Illustrated manual. This package
presents an educationally oriented training program designed
to build a fully operational X/Y axis automated engraver, controlled
by your computer. Close-up machine shop instruction explains
how to make this versatile tool from stock materials. An exceptional
vocational system for the novice to learn shop skills. Covers
time saving tips even an expert will value. Multiple illustrations
are designed to dovetail with the close up details presented
in the video. Topics addressed include fabrication with aluminum,
bringing instrument level accuracy to shop projects, stepper
motor applications, drive systems, and the use of the computer
to control production. In short, this system is intended to
teach just those skills which are essential to a competitive
economy. Potential customers include shop teachers, vocational
schools, equipment manufacturers, trade and industrial associations,
small machine shop owners and hobbyists.
The Diversi-Tech
engraver itself is a stand-alone product of considerable interest.
A highly accurate X/Y tracking system driven by dual stepper
motors over smooth fitting neoprene sleeve bearings, this extremely
sturdy machine runs a Dremel engraving tool. It has a variety
of applications in rendering the output of any standard CAD
program, including operating as a plotter. The company sells
the machine in kit form. After assembly the owner has a detailed
knowledge of this tool. Fully assembled models will also be
available. Potential customers include sign makers, small businesses,
prototype and high end model manufactures, computer users and
hobbyists.
The machine can
be controlled by many CAD programs. The system was developed
jointly by a master instrument maker and a software engineer,
both with experience in technical education. The specially adapted
software is available, as are all spare parts and technical
support.
This is the most
detailed and developed production of Diversi-Tech Inc. It presents
a highly sophisticated training program and an accurate tool
for transforming ideas in a computer to physical reality: a
doubly realized expression of our company mission of diversified
communication.
